AP Cabinet Approves INR 2723 Crore for Amaravati Works and Other RE Projects in Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has approved two major projects worth INR 2,723 crore for Amaravati, including a green ammonia facility and South India’s first integrated energy project, advancing the capital's development into a world-class hub.

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet has recently approved two major projects worth INR 2,723 crore for the greenfield capital of Amaravati, including a 1 million tonne per annum green ammonia manufacturing facility and South India’s first integrated energy project.

The AP government is committed to developing Amaravati into a world-class capital with financial support from the World Bank, HUDCO, and Germany, stated AP’s Information and Public Relations Minister K. Parthasarathy during a press conference. He further informed that fresh tenders are being called under the directives of these institutions.

The cabinet approved several key proposals, including AM Green Ammonia (India) Pvt. Ltd.'s 1 MMTA green ammonia facility in Kakinada and Clean Renewable Energy Hybrid Three Way Ltd.'s solar hybrid and battery storage project in Nandyal and Kadapa districts, involving 119 MW wind and 130 MW solar capacity.

Tata Power Renewable Energy's 400 MW solar facility and Reliance Industries' plan to establish 500 compressed biogas plants with an investment of INR 65,000 crore were also sanctioned, promising significant job creation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Visakhapatnam on January 8, where he will lay foundations for the NTPC Green Hydrogen Hub, attracting INR 65,370 crore in investment, and inaugurate the INR 1,518 crore Krishnapatnam Industrial Hub.
