International technology group Andritz has received a contract from the state utility West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (WBSEDCL) for the supply of complete electromechanical works for the Lodhama II HEP (2 x 5 MW) in Darjeeling, West Bengal.
For this EPC contract, the company has partnered-up with P&R Infraprojects Ltd. to supply the electromechanical works.
This will be the company's second contract with the client having already commissioned a project earlier.
The Lodhama project has been located within the complex of the existing Rammam Stage-II (51 MW) hydroelectric project also owned by WBSEDCL which was commissioned in 1995.
On winning the contract, ANDRITZ said that "its contribution to India's eastern hydropower remains consolidated with this award and we are striving to meet our customer's utmost expectations."
In another significant development, the company had recently signed the agreement for the supply of electromechanical works of Kapru Baner small hydroelectric project (2x1.5 MW) located in Himachal Pradesh India.
The contract was signed in December last year, with the customer, Shiva Power at Chandigarh. The company's scope of supply consists of main inlet valves, turbines, generators, control and protection system, complete electrical power systems and associated auxiliaries. The scope also comprises complete installation and commissioning of the project.
