Amplus Solar Installs First Wind Turbine in Thoothukudi Solar-Wind Hybrid Project

The 2.7 MW wind turbine, manufactured by GE Vernova, serves as the cornerstone of the project, paving the way for the installation of 39 additional turbines. Once completed, the hybrid project will boast a total capacity of 180 MW, with a dedicated wind capacity of 108 MW.
Commenting on this accomplishment, Amplus Solar stated, "We are delighted to reach this significant milestone in our Thoothukudi project. The successful installation of our first wind turbine underscores our dedication to expanding renewable energy infrastructure and providing reliable power to our customers."
With the installation of the first turbine complete, Amplus Solar now shifts its focus to the pre-commissioning phase of the project. This phase marks a crucial stage in the project's development, bringing the company closer to its goal of supplying round-the-clock energy to commercial and industrial customers in the region.
