The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the results of its auction under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Program (Mode-1-Tranche-II), selecting producers to establish green hydrogen facilities in India.
SECI awarded a total annual production capacity of 450,000 metric tons (MT) with a maximum allocated incentive of INR 2238.599 crore.
Under Bucket 1, 448,500 MT of capacity has been awarded to Oriana Power, Suryadeep KA1 Project (InSolare Energy), L&T Energy Green, GH2 Solar, Green Infra Renewable Energy Farms (Sembcorp), Waaree Clean Energy Solutions, AM Green Ammonia, Reliance Green Hydrogen and Green Chemicals. Total incentives under Bucket 1 is pegged at INR 2220.749.
Matrix Gas and Renewables is the sole winner under Bucket 2, securing 1,500 MT with an allocated incentive of INR 17.85 crore.

The auction aimed to maximise green hydrogen production, enhance cost competitiveness, and scale utilization through two pathways—technology-agnostic (Bucket 1) and biomass-based (Bucket 2). The tender was floated in July 2024.
The bidders were required to bid in multiples of 500 MT/year, with capacity limits ranging from 10,000 to 90,000 MT/year for technology-agnostic projects and 500 to 4,000 MT/year for biomass-based projects.
Selected bidders must commission their green hydrogen production facilities within 36 months of receiving the award letter.
Producers have full discretion over project location, with the flexibility to change sites during execution. They must also submit quarterly progress reports to SECI, detailing developments and justifying any delays.
