Alpex Solar, in partnership with NVNR Power & Infra, has secured a significant 70 MW solar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract from the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India.
The solar project will be located at the Nandan Washery in the Kanhan Area of Maharashtra, within the Western Coalfields region.
The project, valued at approximately INR 350 crore, is scheduled for completion within 540 days. Alpex Solar holds a 70 percent stake in the consortium responsible for its development.
The scope of work includes the complete design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, and commissioning of the grid-connected solar power plant. Additionally, the contract includes a ten-year operation and maintenance agreement.
The consortium will also construct a 32 kV double-circuit transmission line from the main control station to the feeding substation, along with necessary bay extension arrangements. The solar power generated will cater to various load centers within Western Coalfields through open access, enabling captive consumption of clean energy. Load center mapping will also be carried out as part of the project’s deliverables.
Alpex Solar recently won another major order worth INR 210 crore for supplying solar modules to the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), further strengthening its footprint in the renewable energy space.
