The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated its Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) – List I, increasing the total number of approved solar module manufacturers to 100.

The list now includes three new entrants: BVG India Ltd. from Uttar Pradesh with an enlisted capacity of 367 MW, KLK Ventures Pvt. Ltd. from Uttar Pradesh with 33 MW, and SAN Energy and Solution from Bihar with 27 MW.

With new additions and capacity expansions by existing players, the enlisted solar module manufacturing capacity under the ALMM has now reached ~70 GW.

In addition to the new entries, several manufacturers have received provisional enlistment and have applied for additional capacities. EMMVE Energy Pvt. Ltd. is enlisted with a capacity of 1,504 MW and has applied for 3,504 MW annually. Rajratana Ventures Ltd. is enlisted and has applied for 79 MW annually, while ORB Energy Pvt. Ltd. is listed with 71 MW and has applied for 91 MW. RenewSys India Pvt. Ltd. has an enlisted and applied capacity of 1,060 MW per year. While these companies are provisionally listed, they are required to comply with government guidelines and complete the necessary processes to secure final enlistment under the ALMM.

Also, a few manufacturers have increased their capacities. Rayzon Solar has expanded its capacity by 1,309 MW, Sova Solar by 765 MW, and Vikram Solar by 296 MW. Spark Solar has increased its capacity by 82 MW, while Swelect HHV Solar Photovoltaics Pvt. Ltd. has expanded by 76 MW.

The MNRE has further updated its ALMM order regarding List-II for solar PV cells, which will come into effect from June 1, 2026. Under this order, all solar modules used in government schemes, net metering, and open access projects will need to source cells from List-II. This update aims to boost domestic manufacturing and ensure quality standards in the renewable energy sector.
