The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated its Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar PV modules, with the total number of enlisted firms now reaching 95.
These firms collectively contribute a combined manufacturing capacity of 2,271 MW. This addition brings India's total ALMM-enlisted solar module manufacturing capacity to 62,765 MW, a significant milestone in the country’s renewable energy growth.
The four firms that have recently expanded their manufacturing capacities are Bluebird Solar, Novasys Greenergy, ReNew Photovoltaics, and Saatvik Green Energy. Among these, Saatvik Green Energy has added a substantial 1,174 MW to its manufacturing capacity, while ReNew Photovoltaics has added 910 MW, Novasys Greenergy has contributed 181 MW, and Bluebird Solar has added 6 MW. These additions reflect the growing strength of the Indian solar manufacturing sector.
Additionally, the Ministry has granted provisional enlistment to several firms for additional solar PV models under ALMM List-I. SAEL Solar, Emmvee Photovoltaic Power, and HR Solar Solutions have all received this provisional status. SAEL Solar, which currently has a manufacturing capacity of 117 MW per year, has applied for an additional 300 MW capacity. Emmvee Photovoltaic Power, with an existing capacity of 676 MW, has applied for more solar PV models. HR Solar Solutions, which is currently enlisted with 136 MW, has applied for an additional 136 MW capacity.
The provisional enlistment grants recognition to these companies, allowing them to expand their manufacturing capabilities, but final enlistment will depend on their compliance with the ALMM guidelines and MNRE’s scrutiny.
As more firms join the ALMM list, the country is poised to meet its ambitious renewable energy targets, particularly as it works toward achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
