Ajay Yadav Appointed as New Managing Director of SECI

The government has appointed Ajay Yadav as the Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI). A 2005 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, Ajay Yadav has recently assumed the charge as the MD.

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is a Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) incorporated in the year 2011. It is the primary implementing agency of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy for renewable energy schemes/projects towards fulfilment of India's international commitments.

SECI has awarded renewable energy project capacities of over 58 GW till now. The corporation is also active in setting up projects through its own investments as well as for other public sector entities as Project Management Consultant (PMC). Its AAA credit rating awarded by ICRA, demonstrates the SECI’s strength.

During the FY 2022-23, SECI was able to trade over 35 billion units of renewable energy power representing a 59 percent increase compared to the previous financial year.
