Air Liquide Signs Ten-Year Agreement with Shell in Italy

Paris-based Air Liquide has announced the signing of a ten-year contract with Shell Energy Europe for the purchase of renewable energy to supply power to industrial and medical gas production operations in the northeastern part of Italy.

2023 onwards, Air Liquide will buy a yearly total of 52 gigawatt-hours of solar photovoltaic renewable energy from Shell Energy Europe in Italy for the next 10 years. The equivalent solar PV installed capacity required to deliver this quantity is 42 megawatt.

The procurement of this renewable energy will ensure that Air Liquide covers a large part of the electricity consumption for the production of industrial and medicinal gases in the North East of Italy.

The company has previously entered into agreements for renewable power in several geographies such as the United States, Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
