AGEL Reports 34 Percent Capacity Growth, 20 Percent Energy Sales Increase in H1 FY25

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) reported a 34 percent year-on-year increase in its operational capacity, reaching 11,184 MW in the first half of FY25, driven by new solar and wind plant additions.

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) reported strong performance in its provisional operational update for H1 FY25, highlighting significant growth in both operational capacity and energy sales.

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) reported a 34 percent increase in its operational capacity, reaching 11,184 MW, following the successful greenfield addition of 2,868 MW. This includes the operationalisation of 2,418 MW of solar power plants, with key projects in Khavda, Gujarat (2,000 MW) and Rajasthan (418 MW).

Additionally, AGEL commissioned 450 MW of wind power plants, with new installations of 250 MW in Khavda, Gujarat, and 200 MW in Mandvi, Gujarat. Energy sales also increased by 20 percent, totaling 14,128 million units, reflecting AGEL’s continued growth momentum.

With its target to reach 50 GW of capacity by 2030, AGEL's solar portfolio has demonstrated a strong capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 23.9 percent, bolstered by 99.4 percent plant availability. Its wind portfolio reported a CUF of 35.7 percent with 95 percent plant availability.

Notably, the company’s hybrid portfolio, which integrates both wind and solar technologies, achieved a remarkable CUF of 42.9 percent, with an exceptional 99.6 percent plant availability. 

Among the key developments in this period, AGEL received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL) to supply 5 GW of solar power for a 25-year duration. AGEL also completed the formation of a joint venture with TotalEnergies for a 1,150 MW renewable energy portfolio, securing an investment of USD 444 million.
