Adyant Enersol, a subsidiary of Datta Infra, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) to secure financing of INR 1,500 crore for the development of 500 MW of renewable energy projects across India.
As per the firm, the collaboration marks a significant step in Datta Infra's ambitious plan to add 2 GW of renewable energy capacity over the next two to three years. “The signing of this MoU sets the foundation for the development of 2 GW of wind, solar, and wind-solar hybrid projects across the country,” stated the firm in its note.
The renewable energy projects will be installed in several states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. Collectively, these projects are expected to generate between 800 to 900 million units (MU) of clean energy annually, utilising a combination of solar and wind resources.
The timeline for project completion is projected to be within 18 to 24 months from the date of signing the power purchase agreement. This aligns with the company’s strategic goals to enhance its presence in the renewable energy sector, particularly as an independent power producer.
Datta Infra is known for providing comprehensive energy solutions through engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance services for transmission lines, solar parks, and wind parks. The company has made significant strides in the renewable energy landscape, completing projects totalling 5.6 GW between 2020 and 2024.
With this new partnership, Adyant Enersol is well-positioned to strengthen its portfolio in the renewable energy sector while contributing to India’s sustainable energy goals.
