SJVN’s auction to set up 600 MW ISTS-connected wind power projects on a build-own-operate basis has attracted an L1 tariff of INR 3.98/kWh.

Adyant Enersol (Datta Infra) has won a capacity of 70 MW at a tariff of INR 3.98/kWh. UPC Renewables has secured 100 MW quoting a tariff of INR 3.99/kWh.

SJVN will sign 25-year PPAs with the developers, with the power allocated to various procurers. The projects can be new, under construction, or commissioned but selling power on a short-term basis, mentioned the tender document.

The tender for this was issued in March 2024.

The tender required bids for project capacities between 50 MW and 300 MW, in multiples of 10 MW.

The winners will develop ISTS-connected wind power projects, including transmission networks up to the delivery point, and are responsible for land acquisition, permits, and securing connectivity.

Only wind turbine models approved under MNRE’s Revised List of Models and Manufacturers are allowed.

The projects must maintain an annual capacity utilisation factor (CUF) above 22 percent, with an option to revise it once within the first three years, provided it remains at least 90 percent of the initially quoted CUF and above 22 percent, specified the tender. After this period, the CUF will remain fixed for the PPA duration.
