Adar Poonawalla-backed homiHydrogen to Invest $50 Mn in Setting up 1.5 GW Electrolyser Manufacturing Facility in India
homiHydrogen, a joint venture between, h2e Power Systems, BlueBasic AMA Engineering (H2energy, Italy) and Greenstat Hydrogen India, is planning to set up a 1.5 GW per annum electrolyser manufacturing facility in India to the benefit of domestic and export markets.

homiHydrogen, a joint venture between, h2e Power Systems, BlueBasic AMA Engineering (H2energy, Italy) and Greenstat Hydrogen India, is planning to set up a 1.5 GW per annum electrolyser manufacturing facility in India to the benefit of domestic and export markets.
The 50 million USD project is expected to generate about 300 green new jobs.
The venture will manufacture efficient and cost-effective all four commercially available electrolysers i.e. Alkaline, AEM, PEM and SOE in India.
homiHydrogen has a presence in the entire value chain of electrolysers required for producing Green Hydrogen.
Part of the Poonawalla Group in Pune, H2e Power Systems Pvt Ltd is India’s first Green Hydrogen & Fuel Cell company, with manufacturing facilities in Switzerland and Germany.
Commenting on the development, Siddharth R Mayur, Founder & Managing Director of h2e Power said, “homiHydrogen is an initiative to build an ethical, sustainable, inexpensive & a state of the art electrolysers that will cater to the domestic needs and exports. homiHydrogen stands unique with its focus not only on electrolysers but also critical components like rectifiers & transformers, R&D and last mile solutions. The name homiHydrogen is a tribute to the great Indian Scientist Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha.”
Greenstat Hydrogen India Pvt Ltd is part of The Greenstat Group, a Norwegian green energy and technology company with its headquartera in Bergen, Norway.

BlueBasic AMA Engineering Pvt Ltd is an Indian subsidiary of the parent Italian company namely, BlueBasic Srl. It is based in Bangalore, India and has a footprint of it's production plants across India.
Dr. Prashant Kamath, Managing Director, BlueBasic Engineering India further said, “we are extremely proud that we are able to bring global technologies to India and manufacture them with the local Indian innovation to create a built to last product. BlueBasic is looking forward to contribute to homiHydrogen with the most innovative electrolyser technologies, which will be a fitting tribute to the Great Dr. Bhabha.”
Meanwhile, homiHydrogen is expected to commence production in 2023 and commited to deliver a 100 per cent Made in India product. The company has also announced its association with OIL India Ltd, the nation’s second-largest national oil & gas explorer to build an effective green hydrogen value chain in the country.
