Adani Wind, the wind solutions division of Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL) has received a major type certification and will now be able to commence production of 5.2 MW series wind turbine generators for global markets.
The company has received international type certification from WindGuard GmbH. The 5.2 MW WTG is made by Adani Wind in alliance with W2E Wind to Energy GmbH, Germany.
With the assurance that the Adani WTG complies with the rules and standards governing design, testing, and manufacturing, this certification enables Adani Wind to begin mass production for foreign markets.
Vneet Jaain, Director of Adani New Industries Limited, said, "The certification not only validates the quality and durability of our 5.2 MW WTG platform, designed to reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), but also supports our objective of establishing India as a leading global manufacturing hub for renewable equipment."
The 5.2 MW wind turbine from Adani Wind has a height of 200 meters, a swept area of 20,106 square meters, and a rotor diameter of 160 meters.
According to Milind Kulkarni, COO of Adani Wind, the 5.2 MW WTG, which was created in collaboration with W2E Wind to Energy GmbH, Germany, demonstrates the company's dedication to advancing research and development initiatives with the goal of maximizing the Annual Energy Production (AEP) of wind power plants and improving profitability for customers.
Adani Wind operates a whole manufacturing environment for WTGs in Mundra, Gujarat. The hub and nacelle assembly and production facilities are all located close to the Mundra port.
