Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), the Indian renewable energy company, has achieved a milestone by surpassing 10,000 MW of operational portfolio. AGEL's operational portfolio includes 7,393 MW of solar power, 1,401 MW of wind power, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity.

This achievement highlights AGEL's commitment to delivering reliable, affordable, and clean power to the national grid. Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group said, "We are proud to be India’s first das hazari in the renewables space... This achievement is a demonstration of the rapidity and scale at which the Adani Group aims to facilitate India's transition to clean, reliable and affordable energy."

AGEL's operational portfolio is set to power more than 5.8 million homes and prevent approximately 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, contributing significantly to India's renewable energy goals. "In our drive towards 45,000 MW by 2030, we are building the world's largest renewable energy plant in Khavda — a 30,000 MW project unparalleled on the global stage," Adani added.

Moreover, AGEL is not only focusing on scaling up its operations but also on sustainable practices across its operations. The company's commitment to enhancing natural and social capital is evident through its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

AGEL's 10,000 MW contribution to India's renewable energy goals represents the largest greenfield expansion in the country's renewable energy sector. Additionally, it constitutes about 11 percent of India's installed utility-scale solar and wind capacity, with over 3,200 direct green jobs created.

Looking forward, AGEL is poised to achieve even greater feats with its ambitious projects. It is currently developing the world’s largest renewable energy project of 30,000 MW in Khavda, Gujarat. Spanning across 538 sq km, this project is five times the size of Paris and almost as large as Mumbai city.

Within just 12 months of commencing work, AGEL has operationalized 2,000 MW of cumulative solar capacity at Khavda, showcasing its remarkable project execution capabilities. Leveraging the expertise of Adani Infra, Adani New Industries Limited, Adani Infrastructure Management Services Ltd., and strategic partners, AGEL is rapidly progressing towards its vision of a cleaner and sustainable future.
