Adani Green Energy Arm Commissions 100 MW Solar Plant in Gujarat, Ahead of Schedule

Ahead of its scheduled commercial operation date (COD), Adani Solar Energy Kutchh Two Pvt Ltd, an arm of Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has commissioned 100 MWac solar power project at Khirsara in Gujarat.
For the project, the Adani Group company had entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam India (GUVNL), priced at Rs 2.44/kWh.
With the commissioning of the project, AGEL’s total operational renewable capacity now grows to 2,950 MWac demonstrating a CAGR of 55 per cent since March 2016, the company said in a statement.
Further, the solar plant will be connected to the company’s Energy Network Operation Centre (ENOC) that continuously monitors and analyses performance of 80+ solar and wind plants across diverse locations in India, it added.
Commenting on the achievement, Vneet S. Jaain, MD & CEO of Adani Green Energy Ltd said that, “Adani Green is committed to creating a sustainable future through rapid project execution capability in line with the global best practices in the renewable energy sector. The commencement of 100 MWac solar power project in Khirsara, Kutchh, Gujarat in line with the Adani Group’s legacy of scale and speed and is another significant step towards achieving our vision of 25 GW renewable energy by 2025.”
Significantly, Adani Green Energy has set a target to commission 25 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2025 and as of now it has a total renewable capacity of 14,195 MWac including 11,245 MWac awarded and under implementation projects.
Buoyed by the development, scrips of AGEL were trading at Rs 1071.90 apiece, up 1.95 per cent, from the previous close on the exchange at 12:07 hours.
