ABB Shares New EV Chargers Plan for India on World EV Day

Technology leader ABB India along with AAR Power Solutions and their brand AAR GO EV Smart has set up the first commercial charging station for the hospitality sector in Ludhiana, Punjab, with a 7.4kw Terra AC W7-G5-R-0 AC wall-box with advanced connectivity options of Bluetooth, ethernet, WIFI, RFID & 4G.

Technology leader ABB India has shared its plan for new electric vehicle (EV) chargers for various locations in India on the occasion of World EV Day, which has been instituted by ABB in partnership with Green.TV.

The company along with AAR Power Solutions and their brand AAR GO EV Smart has set up the first commercial charging station for the hospitality sector in Ludhiana, Punjab, with a 7.4kw Terra AC W7-G5-R-0 AC wall-box with advanced connectivity options of Bluetooth, ethernet, WIFI, RFID & 4G.

Additionally, ABB India along with Saravanaa Aircon MEP and their brand Simplycharge has set up a commercial charging station for the shoppers of T Nagar, the largest market of Chennai. This charger is from the range of Terra AC wallbox smart chargers with integrated advanced connectivity options.

Besides, the tech giant ABB along with Zeon International has also received an order for 3 Terra AC Wallbox 22kW chargers at a mall in the textile hub of the country - Tirupur in Tamil Nadu.

Recently, the company has installed its first public DC fast charger in New Delhi with EV Motors India, the major charge point operator for BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. The Terra54 CJG charging station, which caters to multiple charging protocols of CCS2, CHadeMO and AC Type 2.

The company also supported the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s vision for a green city with clean and affordable energy and installed 5 EV fast chargers in the city.

In 2018, as part of a pilot project at the NITI Aayog headquarters in the heart of Delhi, the government thinktank had installed ABB Terra 53 fast charging station.

During the first MOVE Global Mobility Summit, ABB had also showcased the world’s fastest EV charger in India, which provides a charge of 200km in 8minutes.

Besides, ABB along with Green.TV launched an online pledge campaign as part of World EV Day wherein drivers from more than 60 countries pledged a commitment to EVs, with India having the second highest number of pledges globally.

This campaign encourages drivers to recognize the crucial role that EVs can play in advancing sustainable mobility, making a commitment that the next car they drive will be electric.

Results to date are already indicating which countries are in the driving seat when it comes to taking action. The United Kingdom is currently leading the way with 29 percent of sign ups. This is closely followed by India (13 percent) and United States of America at 11 percent.
