Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd. has issued an RfP for the selection of solar rooftop power developers for a cumulative capacity of 134 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar power projects (without battery storage) on different government buildings in Assam under RESCO mode under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Bid submission ends on March 11, 2025.

Residential Ground-Mounted Elevated Installations Eligible for CFA: MNRE

MNRE has clarified that residential ground-mounted elevated solar installations meeting technical guidelines are eligible for CFA under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Homeowners, especially those with roof not suitable for rooftop solar, will benefit from this. Additionally, apartment dwellers can join the scheme via Virtual Net Metering.

Residential Rooftop Solar Installations Under PM Surya Ghar Crosses 8.46 Lakh

Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, and Power Shripad Yesso Naik shared that a total of 8.46 lakh households have been benefitted through installation of rooftop solar plants under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Gujarat leads the adoption with 3,51,273 installations, followed by Maharashtra (1,92,936) and Uttar Pradesh (73,602).

Rooftop Solar Installations Under PM Surya Ghar to Reach 20 Lakh by October 2025: Shripad Naik

Minister of State of Power, and New and Renewable Energy, Shripad Naik said that rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana are projected to reach around 10 lakh by March 2025, doubling to 20 lakh by October, 40 lakh by March 2026, and ultimately achieving the target of one crore by March 2027.
